Help & FAQ
Common questions about how Rank Pulse works
What does Rank Pulse actually measure?
How often and how well AI engines — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews — mention, cite, and recommend your brand when asked the kinds of questions your real customers ask. Every number comes from a real call to that engine, not a simulation.
How do I get started?
Create an account, then add a brand with its website URL — we fetch its title and description automatically. From there you seed a few topic keywords, review AI-generated tracking prompts (or write your own), and we crawl your site and run your first executions in the background.
Which AI engines are supported?
ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude via direct API, plus Google AI Overviews via a separate SERP-based sweep. Which ones are active depends on which API keys are configured for your workspace — a missing key just means that engine is skipped, not a broken feature.
Why does a panel say "no data yet"?
Most panels only populate once a module has real underlying data — e.g. you need at least one prompt execution, or a page crawled, or two engines run on the same prompt. Panels no longer auto-compute on every page visit; use the "Recompute panels" action to refresh them after you have new data.
What's the difference between Crawl, Run prompt executions, and Recompute panels?
Crawl fetches your site's real pages (no AI involved). Running prompt executions sends your approved prompts to each configured AI engine and records what they say — the step that produces real visibility data. Recompute panels re-runs the scoring/analysis modules against whatever data already exists, without calling the AI engines again.
Can I connect Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or my CMS?
Yes, from Brand Preferences → Connections. GSC/GA4 use real Google OAuth; WordPress/Shopify connections let the Automation group's approved fixes actually publish to your live site instead of staying as proposed changes.
Can I share a report with a client who doesn't have an account?
Yes — generate a share link from the Reports page. It's a public, read-only view of that report; you can revoke it at any time.
How do Tag and Location on a prompt work?
They're real grouping keys, not just labels: Tag groups prompts by product for the AI Shopping/Product Answer Monitor, and Location groups them by market for the Local AI Visibility Monitor. Set them from Manage Prompts on the Prompts & Topics page — both fields use a dropdown of values you've already used, so they stay consistent.
Is any part of the product automated without my approval?
No irreversible action runs without an explicit approval step. The Automation group's fix pipeline is Generate → Risk-check → Approve → Deploy → Validate — nothing deploys until you approve it, and every deployed change is logged with a before-state snapshot so it can be rolled back.
Something looks wrong or a number seems off — what do I do?
Use the contact form below, or email us directly. Tell us the page, the brand, and what you expected vs. what you saw — that's usually enough for us to trace it against the real underlying data.
